The Mates go to Hawaii
Onboard-post Hawaii
We do clean up nice.
As do our best buddies, Bob and Jude
And our Florida Mates, Mike and Carol. It was so great having the whole gang back together.
Dinner break on the first formal night.
The whole gang.
Timothy, our maitre' d
Maybe the nicest guy we met on this cruise. And what a sharp dresser. His ties rocked!
The effervescent (or had one too many Red Bulls) Levant.
A handsome young lad from Turkey, our assistant waiter.
We actually went off the ship so they could take this with the ship in the background. Really. We were more than a thousand miles from land but they have a special tender for that.
And three days later, we all got dressed up again.
And then again a few days after that. Note my different vests.
We liked to walk around the ship and pose.
Another great Turk, Vulcan, took care of us each morning in the Elite lounge.
Where we met Scott who we bonded with. A house pimp (that's a good title in Canada) from Denver.
Jude and Sandra, one of four new Martini Mates added on this cruise.
Carole (with an e) talks to Mickey before our last day Cruise Critic luncheon.
Sandra and Bill, 2 of the four new Mates.
Carole (with an E) the third of the new Mates
Carol (our favorite southern belle)
Bill, a heck of a nice guy from Georgia.
Carole (with an e)
Danny, the last of our new Martini Mates and married to the wonderful Carole (with an e).
Bob and Jude
Carole (with an e)
Mike thinks that's hilarious.
He laughed so hard his glasses fell off.
That's better. Our favorite Floridians.
Who is that masked man?
Mickey Live
Another of our Cruise Critic Roll Call members.
Headed down to the grand buffet/brunch
Bob's got me.
Celebrity delicacies.
They speak for themselves.
Yummy!
I mean really
Nice ice sculpture
Dessert!
Including chocolate fountains
And more ice sculptures
Our sommelier who took care of our wine needs every night. And man, did we have wine needs.
Bill & Sandra getting lunch
Carved fruit.
Carol really likes the carved fruit.
Time for more food. What else is cruising about.
Bread! Time for carbs. Bad carbs. Empty carbs.
More of our Cruise Critic roll call.
And the other side of the table.
Looking down on the desserts.
Mickey's done with lunch.
Time for Mike to take more pictures. When isn't it time for Mike to take more pictures?
Jerry's done with lunch and headed to lay in the sun for one last afternoon.
Bob just wants a little more sun before he has to go back to the frozen north.
So does Kathleen.
But she will settle for my warmth. LOL
Post lunch we watch the ship building competition by the pool
Great ships.
But they have to float
Even a mini-Century.
On the maxi Century
Bob can't wait to see the boats. He loves boats.
Walter comes by our room pushing pastries. We have great will power and tell him no. He gives us the V for Victory sign!
My favorite slot machine. We would walk by it every night coming back from the Martini Bar. I was moved by it.
And now, Kathleen Bellomo for Apothic red. The best blend we know of.
Our Captain's Club Hostess greets us in the Elite Lounge.
The last night is always Gumby night. It's a Monty Python tradition.
Get your Gumby on!
Even our waiter Fabian got in on Gumbies!
By the way, this is not a cruising tradition, it is a Jude tradition. To the best of my knowledge we are the only ones who do this on ships.
Even Levant got a Gumby.
The two tallest guys in the room Bob and Fabian.
No one loves Gumby night more than Carol. She talks about it for days before it happens. She gets so excited.
More Gumbies.
Bill and Sandra joined us for dinner. Not sure they realized what they were getting into.
The whole Gumbized crowd.
The lady who started it all. And as Bob would say, "That's no lady, that's my wife!"
Mike likes his Gumby night too but he has already lost his hat.
Bob doing a kind of shiek Gumby
Later on, in the Martini Bar we suck back one last bunch of martinis.
Danny and Carole (with an e)
Even our Cruise Director John stops by.
And we Gumbize him as well.
Cruise Directors will do anything for attention.
The amazing Lennox who celebrated 15 years with Celebrity on our second to the last night.
One last Martini Mate pic with all the members on board, new and old. Have no clue who that guy in the yellow shirt is.
Lennox and Iryna who took such great care of us in the Martini Bar.
Our last stop, for the idiot Jones Act--Ensenada, Mexico where no one got off the ship...but we stopped.
And they had a really big flag.
Below is a slide show of my pics from the 2nd half of the cruise onboard Century
